Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan all reported military activity linked to Iran overnight Monday, as US strikes on Iranian targets entered a tenth consecutive night and widened the conflict’s regional footprint. CENTCOM said it completed another round of strikes against Iran at 9 p.m. ET on July 20, according to CENTCOM’s official release.
Kuwait intercepted what officials described as hostile targets during the night, while air raid sirens sounded across Bahrain and Jordan said its forces shot down Iranian missiles entering its airspace, according to a CNN live blog. The same night’s strikes coincided with a tanker hit in the Strait of Hormuz, whose crew has since abandoned ship.
Washington is reinforcing its regional posture as the front widens, moving additional fighter jets into the Middle East while Trump weighs next steps.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell pushed back Monday on a New York Times report alleging the Pentagon concealed injury figures, confirming that nearly 100 US service members have suffered some degree of injury since July 7, with 96 percent already returned to duty and the majority described as minor concussions, per Stars and Stripes.
No casualties have yet been reported from the Kuwait, Bahrain, or Jordan incidents specifically.
